An informal meeting was called to order by President Chris Streitenberger at 7:10 p.m. at Mohican State Park. All officers were in attendance.
Margaret Hite reported that we received a check from South Central Power Company through their Grant Program which we will use to purchase the stone needed to repair the Purple Trail at HOCKING. The State will supply the fabric and all the equipment needed. Scott believes that the project will begin in the next two weeks and should be completed sometime in July. Speaking of Hocking projects State Senator Tim Schaffer reached out to Bryan Black and asked if we were still interested in the upgrading of the special use camp at HOCKING. He indicated that if we were, he would work to locate the money. In addition Chris met with Assistant Chief of Forestry, David LANE, regarding our desire to revisit the upgrading project. He took that conversation to Chief of Forestry, Dan Balser and both have signed on to support the project if the money can be located.
David Lane will not allow tent camping at HOCKING. Every week tent campers are discovered and asked to leave. Hopefully the word will get around.
Home Depo has donated a Black Stone Grill to be raffled off for our SCIOTO TRAILS STATE RIDE this Labor Day. Raffle Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10.00. If you feel you might be able to sell a few tickets at different events this summer let Chris know.
An additional $1,000.00 will be donated to Stockhands Horses for Healing.
June will be collecting donations of money or gift cards throughout the summer.
The informal meeting adjourned at 7:40.
